End dating an IB Asset through Miscelleanous Receipt

When a serial number requires refurbishment,, Inventory Control team initiates a Miscellaneous Issue transaction and processes the return under the refurbished SKU (e.g., 9023R) using a Miscellaneous Receipt transaction.
Currently the Issue transaction does not end date the asset in IB.
This has resulted in multiple records in IB for the same serial#, though the item# is different it creates some confusion for the end users.
Could you please check if this is the expected behavior as it was not the case in EBS?

The expectation here is when a miscellaneous receipt is created the IB asset should automatically get end dated. Could you please help me if this is possible in fusion?
