Approval Issue | Line Manager's Manager

Summary:

We have a requirement where:

  • When a transaction is initiated by a manager, or by HR acting as a manager (initiating for their direct report), or by a manager’s manager, the approval should go to the HR Representative.
  • When a transaction is initiated by HR for any employee other than their direct report, it should be auto-approved.

We have successfully implemented rules to distinguish between manager and HR, but we are still unable to differentiate transactions initiated by a manager’s manager versus HR.

Here are the rules we’ve used so far:

  • HR Transaction:
    (transactionApprovalRequest.Requestor != GetManager("LINE_MANAGER", Task.payload.Worker's Current Assignment.result.Assignment Supervisor))
