Description:
Running Java workloads with highest effectiveness in cloud environments means optimizing across a series of metrics including throughput, startup, latency, memory footprint, and packaging size. Join Thomas to learn about the different trade-offs in the solution space that is offered by Oracle's GraalVM and Java technologies to find the best fit for your Java deployment. He will specifically demonstrate the newly developed option to compile applications into native images offered by Oracle GraalVM Enterprise.
Thomas Wuerthinger is a researcher at Oracle Labs Switzerland and the GraalVM founder and project lead. Previously, he worked on the Crankshaft optimizing compiler of V8 at Google, and the Maxine research virtual machine at Sun Microsystems. He received a PhD degree from JKU Linz for his research about dynamic code evolution.
