Eloqua's new Email Design Editor allows marketers to quickly and easily create responsive emails for use in building successful campaigns, directly in the Eloqua platform.


Training on using this new feature is now available through Oracle University, incorporated into the B2B Fundamentals course. Select sessions (dates shown below) will include this education and all B2B Fundamentals sessions will include the Email Design Editor education later this calendar year. We're pleased to announce several enhancements to the Academy training programs and tools, which will take effect in early 2017. These enhancements are related to planned updates to our learning portal design and training delivery that will further improve functionality and navigation in the portal. These changes also serve to streamline our accreditation paths as well as the enrollment and delivery processes. We've taken customer feedback into consideration for certain changes listed below and believe this approach reflects how many of today's marketing professionals want to learn and interact with education programs and systems.


Academy 2017 Updates


Organizational Update: As of October 2016, the Academy has joined with Oracle University (OU) and will be integrating certain aspects of our operation with OU in the coming months. Any future changes related to customer training will be announced on our Topliners group page and in the learning portal. The updates listed below represent changes to the portal, accreditation news and process improvements.


1) Multi-Day Course Delivery Expanded for ILT Courses


B2B Master ILTs Presented Over Three Consecutive Days

Since August 2016, the B2B Master ILT course requirements have been delivered via two separate series -- the B2B: Fundamentals Series and the B2B: RPM Series. Beginning in January 2017, these two series will be scheduled over a three-day period, which will cover all the ILT education necessary for the B2B Master accreditation. Students should still enroll for each individual series in the learning portal, but have the flexibility to enroll for one or both, as needed.


The B2B: RPM Series will be updated to a 1-day course that incorporates the current web-based education. See additional details here. Web-based training (WBT) required for the B2B: Fundamentals Series will continue to be required and is available for viewing in the learning portal.


B2B Luminary Tenet ILTs Presented in Multi-Day Courses

Effective with our January 2017 training schedule, many ILT courses within the B2B Luminary tenet categories will be presented in multi-day sessions that cover all the ILT requirements for the specific specialty tenet. For example, the B2B: Engagement (ILT) tenet courses will be presented in a two-day session that can be registered for in the learning portal. The portal training schedule for January will reflect these multi-day sessions and will be available for viewing and registration by mid- to late-November. Web-based training (WBT) requirements will continue to be available for viewing in the learning portal.


By taking a multi-day tenet course, a student will receive credit for all the training topics within that tenet category (after submitting the evaluation survey). This means a student will register for just one course, i.e. the B2B: Engagement (two-day) offering, and this offering will include education in all categories (previously individual  ILT courses) within that tenet. For the B2B: Engagement tenet, that includes the following (note: these are 2016 requirements):

  • B2B: Social Suite Applications
  • B2B: Personalizing Campaigns
  • B2B: Basic Event Management
  • B2B: Events in the Cloud
  • Best Practices: Writing a Great Blog Post (WBT) (Student required to take this web-based course in the learning portal)


The available multi-day courses will be presented in the January 2017 schedule and the courses included can be reviewed here. Course topics not in the current list may be transitioned to multi-day offerings over time. Please refer to the Training Schedule in the learning portal for all scheduled courses.


2) New Learning Portal Interface Coming in 2017


A newly re-designed learning portal, including updated home page, training detail pages and product pages will become live in early 2017. This new interface will feature a simpler view of assigned training and required courses for Academy accreditations. In mid- to late-November, current customers will have the opportunity to view a beta version of the new interface when they log in to the learning portal for a preview of the new design and functionality.

3) Earn New Academy Accreditations in 2017!


With newly released course content and defined accreditation paths, two new accreditations will be available for 2017. Accreditation programs for the DMP Master (Data Management Platform) and OCM Master (Content Marketing) titles will be ready in early 2017 and course requirements will be announced before the end of 2016. These accreditations will follow the basic structure of our other Master accreditation programs -- the titles will require completion of defined courses and passing of a single Master exam. After earning a Master title, a student will receive a completion certificate and a badge on Topliners.

Each year, the B2B Luminary title features 'bridge' courses that must be completed for title renewal or by students continuing to pursue the accreditation from the prior year. For reference, you can view the 2016 requirements and bridge courses here: Requirements for the B2B Luminary Accreditation.


The bridge courses for 2017 will include both instructor-led (ILT) and web-based (WBT) training courses. The new requirements will be announced on Topliners in December and scheduling of these courses will be posted in the learning portal in early 2017.

What changes are pending in Oracle Eloqua?


The Oracle Eloqua platform will decommission its campaign canvas cloud connectors and cloud components in 2017. This will result in a transition for platform users from using Eloqua Apps to Oracle Apps and from Program Builder to Program Canvas. For customers, this means that current workflows using Eloqua Apps will need to be rebuilt in the platform. In addition, programs will need to be rebuilt on the new Program Canvas.


Note the critical dates for these changes:


After Feb. 1, 2017 -- no new cloud connectors or components can be added in Eloqua.

After March 31, 2017 -- all existing connectors and components will stop working, if not transitioned to the new features.

Deprecation of Campaign Canvas Cloud Connectors and Cloud Components [Updated]


How can my team prepare?


Oracle Marketing Cloud Academy has the education you need to update campaign workflows using the pending features. A brief description of each course is provided below to help you understand the content and how the courses can help your team make needed changes in campaigns. Each course will be available in the Academy learning portal.


1) B2B: Data Cleansing (3-hour ILT, updated) – A revision of our data cleansing class to now be built on the new program canvas AND use the new Oracle Contact Washing Machine app.


2) B2B: Oracle Eloqua App Cloud (3-hour ILT, new) --  This hands-on course will introduce the Eloqua-specific apps available in the Oracle App Marketplace. This course replaces the current B2B: Social Suite Applications course in the Academy. (Note: For customers pursuing the B2B Luminary title in 2016, the course requirement can be met by either course. B2B: App Cloud will be required for the B2B Luminary title beginning in 2017.)


3) Introduction to the Program Canvas (WBT) (New) – A high-level overview of the new canvas geared toward data workflows. This course will be important for all new customers and customers who will need to rebuild any existing programs that use old connectors being decommissioned.


4) Introduction to the Oracle Marketing Cloud (New QuickCast Video) – This is a high-level overview video, introducing the concept  of the Oracle Marketing Cloud. The video is non-product specific and reviews benefits of OMC products based on business needs.

Oracle Marketing Cloud Academy will present two Hands-On Lab sessions at Oracle Open World, held September 18 - 22 in San Francisco, CA.


The labs will take place on Tuesday, September 20 at the Moscone West convention center.

Each lab session will be conducted by one of our experienced senior instructors, who are experts in their product specialty.

Registered conference attendees can participate in all scheduled sessions and no additional pre-registration is required for these Academy sessions.

B2B_education.pngThe B2B Master title is our popular, first tier accreditation for Oracle Eloqua education. Earlier in 2016, we introduced the B2B Master course series in our training schedule that provides students the opportunity to complete the B2B Master Instructor-Led (ILT) requirements during a focused training period. The two-part series includes the B2B: Fundamentals Series and B2B: RPM Series.


Beginning with our August training schedule, the B2B Master course series offering will fully replace our individually scheduled B2B Master ILT courses. This change will allow us to present a more consistent, longer term schedule of offerings and will also serve to provide concentrated learning that helps students shorten their learning curve on the Eloqua platform.


How the B2B Master Course Series Works


Here is a brief review of how the series works:

  • The full B2B Master course requirements are presented in two separate series, the B2B: RPM Series and the B2B: Fundamentals Series, scheduled over 3 consecutive training days.
  • Full credit for all B2B Master ILT courses requires enrollment in and completion of both parts of the series, the B2B: Fundamentals Series (2 days instruction) and the B2B: RPM Series (1 day instruction).
  • These enrollments can be found in the learning portal under Training Schedule (see navigation steps below).
  • If you enroll in a course series, it is not necessary to enroll in an individual course. For example, if you enroll in the B2B: Fundamentals Series, the series covers all B2B: Fundamentals requirements. You do not need to enroll for individual B2B: Fundamentals courses (i.e. B2B: Fundamentals of Emails, B2B: Fundamentals of Forms & Landing Pages, etc.). The same applies for the B2B: RPM Series. Note also that beginning in August 2016, individual B2B Master courses will no longer be scheduled. These courses will be taught through the scheduled Series only.

Individual courses will continue to be available in the Academy's June and July 2016 schedule. Students who have already made progress in some of the B2B Master requirements may want to consider completing the rest of their requirements before the change in August.


Questions & Answers


Below are answers to some questions about this scheduling change:


Why are individual courses being discontinued for the B2B Master ILT requirements?

Since introducing the B2B Master course series earlier this year, enrollment in the series has grown quite a bit in a short period of time. Many students working toward the B2B Master title have an interest in completing courses quickly and are looking for concentrated learning that leads to quicker accreditation. By offering these courses exclusively in a series format, the Academy can present a more consistent schedule with more regular coverage and offerings in all the geographic areas we serve.


How do I enroll for the B2B Master series of courses?

The enrollment instructions for the B2B Master series have not changed. You can view the steps to enroll in a B2B Master series in our related Topliners post. Be sure to click on Training Schedule from the home page to view the current offerings in your learning portal.


Can I enroll in one part of the series and not the other? (i.e. only B2B: Fundamentals series or only B2B: RPM series)

Yes, you may enroll in one series. However, note that if you enroll in and complete only one part of the series (i.e. the B2B: Fundamentals series only), you will need to enroll for and complete the other series at another time before taking the B2B Master exam. In order to complete the full list of required ILT courses in the B2B Master curriculum, you need to enroll for both series. This is the recommended process to ensure you are eligible to take the B2B Master exam for accreditation.


What if I've already started my B2B Master ILT training?

If you have already completed some of the B2B Master requirements, you may want to consider enrolling for and completing the remainder of the requirements during the months of June and July, when individually-scheduled courses are still offered. Refer to the Training Schedule in your learning portal for available courses.


How will courses be scheduled for the B2B Luminary requirements and other advanced courses?

Other Academy B2B ILT courses, including B2B Luminary ILT requirements, will continue to be scheduled individually as they are currently. Oracle Marketing Cloud Academy is pleased to announce the expansion of the Data Management Platform (DMP) curriculum and training offerings to support the success of DMP customers.

The DMP course list now includes Instructor-Led (ILT) courses -- the first of which are available to training customers in our learning portal. These new ILT courses include:

EdDaysmall.jpgIt's always an exciting day and an honor for OMC Academy to be the 'opening act' for a great event like Modern Marketing Experience. This year, our pre-conference Education Day on April 26 welcomed several hundred students to classes and featured over 30 live, free training sessions presented by some of our best instructors and experts.


Beginning bright and early on Education Day, attendees participated in Academy training sessions across all five product offerings, including Eloqua: Data Cleansing, Responsys: Essentials of Program and DMP: Audiences and Campaigns. The training offerings also included strategic and best practice sessions including classes like B2B Success Accelerators and Implementing a DMP.


In recognition of the work and dedication of our 2015 accredited students, our annual accreditation reception was held at the conclusion of Education Day. Awards and recognition were presented to attendees who achieved any of four Academy titles, including B2C Program, B2C Campaign, B2B Master and B2B Luminary. Attendees had the opportunity to meet and network with other modern marketers and Academy instructors, as well as hear updates from the Academy leadership team. Guests heard details from leadership about the new B2C Master accreditation and about the Academy offerings and badges available for Oracle Testing & Optimization (Maxymiser) training.


Our Academy demo booth was also available in the Oracle demo grounds for the duration of the conference, offering information about Academy training offerings and access to team experts. With another calendar year of Modern Marketing education in the books, the Oracle Marketing Cloud Academy extends kudos and congratulations for the achievements of all Academy students -- especially those earning titles in the 2015 B2B Master and 2015 B2B Luminary programs.

To earn this challenging title, candidates go beyond the 'classroom' to complete the three-part Luminary process after finishing all course requirements. The process followed (after eligibility is confirmed) includes passing the rigorous B2B Luminary exam, completing a Hand-On Practical exercise and publishing a thought leadership blog post that showcases their expertise and business results in action.
