What to do if Unable to Clear a Check from the KDS?

A: If a check if stuck on the RES KDS system and cannot be cleared, follow these steps.
· Identify the node for the MICROS KDS Controller Service.
- Login to POS Configurator.
- Select the System tab.
- Select Kitchen.
- On the Options tab, identify the LAN Node.
· Open the command prompt as administrator ( CMD.exe )
· Run the amnesia command:
- If the KDS LAN Node identified in step 1.4 is the server, run the following in the command prompt:
execkdscmd.exe -A
- If the KDS LAN Node identified in step 1.4 is a workstation, run the following in the command prompt:
execkdscmd.exe -A -N <node name>
For example, if the LAN Node identified in step 1.4 is PCWS01, run the following in command prompt: execkdscmd.exe -A -N PCWS01
WARNING: This command clears all order from all KDS screens. The orders cannot be retrieved once they are cleared. All execkdscmd.exe commands are case sensitive.
