The database maint manual (7.0 - I don't see later version of the manual) specifies (Sec. 2.1.3) specifies that user processes not exceed the monitors priority. Can ALS server and Online backup routines run at the same priority as the monitor? Our monitor generally runs at priority 15. We are running OpenVMS 8.3 and Rdb version 7.2-200. Just to be safe I've set the ALS processes and online backup down to 14.
