IBM zS: Oracle Instant Client via ODBC on Linux on IBM zSeries

Although this product is apparently available and downloadable, it appears that due to a bug, it is not usable. 

Bug 9887355 - INSTANT CLIENT 10.2.0.4 ON LINUX ON SYSTEM Z PROVIDES UNSUPPORTED ODBC DRIVER

I have requested clarification on the issue from development, and will post the conclusion here. Any customers wanting to use this combination should open a service request so we can formally register interest.
