P6 Web Services returns "Login failed due to invalid database instance."

Not sure if I'm posting to the right community, but am having trouble getting P6 Web Services working correctly. 

I've been working with a backup PMDB (for safety) and web services were working briefly.  I think it stopped working after restoring an updated PMDB over my working copy.

The errror I'm getting is "Login failed due to invalid database instance." 

A search of the Knowledge Browser returns little besides this article on a different product.  How To: Get Claim Digger, Schedule Analyzer and/or Update Baselines to Work with Multiple Databases When the Database was Copied from Another Machine. [ID 913258.1]
