firmware Alert when using Hot Spares

I believe there was an Alert this year detailing a data integrity issue when using Hot Spares.  If I remember right it included several firmware levels.  I do not remember seeing a fix for the problem and support is now telling us we need to remove all Hot Spares before replacing a failed disk.

I searched 1021776.1 but could not find it.

Anyone remember the alert?
