Expand Virtual Disk

It is safe (does it work) to "Expand Virtual Disk" (Virtual Disk Summary > Virtual Disk Details > Expand Virtual Disk) on 6140 (FW 07.60.18.10) on FC 300GB 15K disks?  I have done this with SATA and RAID 5, but now I need to do the same but for FC and RAID 1.

The more I read about the FW bugs the more disappointed I become with having a 6140.
