ST6140 upgrade to ST6180

Hi All,
I have a customer is going to buy a new 6180 controller tray and want to convert the existing 6140 tray into CSM200 expansion tray. I just wondering if the data in original ST6140 is still intact if it is converted to  CSM200 expansion tray.
