Can we prevent the 'Page Expiry' Popup when users are idle for some time on the public login page ?

We have a a  WebCenter Portal application that uses a custom welcome/login page.
This is a public page which includes some portlets and Login fields.

When a user invokes this screen and remains idle for some time, they see the standard expiry popup dialog box containing the message:
'Page Expired. The page has expired. Click OK  to continue.'

We want to have no expiry time on this public page - users should be allowed to display this page and remain inactive for an unlimited period of time.
We do not want to change any overall expiry parameter as we still want the authenticated pages to expire after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Howdy, Stranger!
