confirming order in T&C form of PO header screen

Hello All,  I wonder if there is any way NOT to trigger the re-approval of a purchase order by checking the confirming order box in the Terms & Conditions form from PO header screen.  The self approval is acceptable (but not gone through the entire approval process).  Or it has to be a customization.  Thanks!
