CVV & Address Validation

Can anybody guide me what's the difference between CVV/Address Validation in R12 (iPayment in 11i) and CVV/Address Validation available in 11i under Risk Management in iPayment?

Is there any specific usage/advantage/dis-advantage on R12 Vs 11i?
