Assigning "Test Equiptment" to as Task

Hello All,   We have a requirement to assign a piece of test equipment to a Task in Field Service to represent a specific unit that a field service technician will take with him/her to a job site.  The equipment is different for each job and some jobs may not require any.  I have tried to setup a Resource of type = Other and assign it to the task along with the Field Service Technician but I can't get the resource of type Other to show in the Resources field unless it is a Person.  I have to think that someone
