Replacing a SAM-QFS mr partition with a larger one

In SAMFS 5.2 or newer, you can shrink and grow a SAMFS filesystem by removing or addiungan mr (data) partition to a ma SAM_QFS filesystem.

Can I replace a mr partition by a different one (possibly larger or smaller) by the following means:
a.  samcmd release <eq_number>
b.  samcmd remove <eq_number>
c.  edit my mcf file and replace the device for <eq_number> with a new device
(eg different /dev/... path and possibly a different size)
d.  samd config
e.  samcmd add <eq_number>

If not, what are the restrictions on removing and adding a device?
f.  Must the size be the same?

Howdy, Stranger!
