Archiver daemon not running all of a sudden...

Hello,

I was monitoring my SAMFS system when samu reported "Archiver daemon not running".

 I immedialte try to idle the archiver and stager to restart the process, but I can not idle the ar process. Stidle works fine.

A quick peek with ps -elf shows all the processes are running.  I most be missing something.

The trace log shows:

08:49:23 sam-fsd [28777:1]: Validation started

08:49:24 sam-fsd [28777:1]: Validation completed - exiting

and that is about the time the archiver is reported to not be running.  What is wierd is the the PID for sam-fsd is 2597 and not 28777.

Can anyone shed any light?

P.S: I am starting to see "sam-fsd not responding, 1 wait" messages in syslog - but earlier in the day.
