How to Enable Deadman Kernel Code in Solaris 8 and Newer to Force a Kernel Panic During a Hang [ID 1

1)Can I get engineerings take on this please?  My customer's IT Management wants to know why we don’t set this by default.?


2) Can I get an opinion on using the deadman kernel – should we be using it across the board?

 
3) should we activate it on the server that is hanging now for the near future?

4) what’s the danger of using it?
