Designing consideration for OLTP /DSS/DW databases

Hi Team,

I'm new to  designing database.We ahve a new requirment to design  a 11g version  of OLTP/DSS/DW house databases.

Can you please tell me

1.what are the main thing we need  to consdier while designing?

2.Cosiderations from server/machine like RAM,CPU and disk I/O

3.Main consdierations from databases like OFA,SGA,mirroring,Disk I/O,Object structure. etc.,

4.Proactive database tuning parameter,structural  considerations

5.Information for user management

Any other valid informations to consider design.
