Depot Repair Statuses and Assigning

We are currently implementing Oracle Depot Repair for a high volume facility and I wanted to see what the best way to handle a couple scenarios would be. Here is a very high level flow and the areas I need suggestions in: 

  1. RMA Desk - Repair Order/RMA comes in via a phone call or iSupport (this is straight forward)
  2. Customer sends the product with RMA to our central receiving location where it will be received/verified in Oracle (via bulk receiving) and repackaged and sent to our repair facility. Current plan is we will receive the product in Oracle, and create a custom process/workflow that will create an internal move order to send this to our repair facility. Question is can items be moved from one subinventory to another? Or does this have to be from inv org to another inv org? We currently only have one inv org setup. Any suggestions on how to better handle this process?
