Console login fails

Hi,
I changed the password for a grid console user, tested the new password (I could login via console with id/newpw) and sent to user.

User sent email with login issues.  I tried to login via console with ID/pw and could not, so I reset the pw again, still I could not login via console.

Made certain that account was not locked, still could not login to console.

I can login to the grid DB with the user's ID/newpasswd via sqlplus, but NOT grid console.

Any ideas?
