Is there a way to see who is currently signed into the Register?

I'm trying to find a value in the database that shows which user is currently logged in to the POS register.  I see in the AS_TL table there is a column that is supposed to show who is currently signed into the register.  But if that user signs out the table doesn't update, it still shows the previous user signed in.  Any help would be appreciated.
