Unable to receive public oracle linux updates after de-registering a clone from ULN

edited Mar 19, 2014 12:00PM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered

I've cloned a 6.5 virtual machine from a production server.   I want to continue applying updates from the public oracle servers, but I do not want the clone to be registered with ULN.   I've removed the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/systemid file with the registration info from the clone, but when I attempt to run a "yum list updates" I am still getting an OLN error message.

[root@prdTEMPLATE01 rhn]# rm -i systemid

rm: remove regular file `systemid'? y

[root@prdTEMPLATE01 rhn]# yum list updates

Loaded plugins: rhnplugin, security

This system is not registered with ULN.

You can use uln_register to register.
