Guds and cron issue

I have a customer attempting to run guds every hour started by cron (so logs can be rolled and older logs discarded) . They currently use the -H 1 option, The problem is that  GUDS does not always finish during that hour and therefor the next attempt to start fails. What GUDs options can customer use to be sure it is always running and be restarted by cron (to roll logs and discard old logs) ? Also note this is GUDS V3.4  which has the new feature "Check whether an instance of guds is already running, emit a warning
