Once an EIT is created and registered for a legislation, is there any way to "unregister" that EIT?

An EIT was created and the individuals creating it registered it for a single legislation, however, we need the EIT to be available Globally so the legislation when registering should have been left blank.  Now, we cannot register it for another legislation and cannot figure out how to "unregister" it so it can be registered appropriately.  Please help!
