After rpm server restart, unable to login to application or run batches

We are facing a strange issue while logging into rpm application/running batches immediately after the application servers are restarted. After 2 failure attempts, in the 3rd attempt application is authorising the user and the same behaviour is observed with batches.

Steps:

Bring down RPM application server

Bring up RPM application server

execute a batch with correct credentials

Notice batch fails

In the third attempt batch is successful (With out any changes)

Batch error log

18:15:18,884 ERROR [EjbServiceLocator] error while finding jndi-name(com/retek/rpm/app/core/service/RPMCommandExecutionService)

javax.naming.AuthenticationException [Root exception is java.lang.SecurityException: User: RETAIL.USER, failed to be authenticated.]
