is it safe to say that consumption is stored with a negative sign in MTL_MATRIAL_TRANSACTION table a

is it safe to say that consumption is stored with a negative sign in MTL_MATRIAL_TRANSACTIONS table and adjustments ( returns on consumption ) are stored with a positive sign ?

I Can see many negative transactions in MTL_material_transactions table . Are they coming bcoz of receipt correction or return ? or there are any other possible way ?

Also for positive amount is that only coming from receipt or any other possible way ?

your response will be highly appreciated. Thanks
