Cannot login to BI Publisher using LDAP

We recently installed BI Publisher 12.2.1.4.0 (Stand alone)

We need to use LDAP for user authentication.

We have LDAP configured in Fusion Middleware and have Microsoft AD set as the first Authentication Provider.

We are able to see all our Active Directory users and groups in the Admin Console.

We are able to login to the Admin Console using my AD account that is a member of the XMLP_ADMIN group we created in AD.

However we cannot login to BI Publisher using any of the Active Directory accounts through LDAP.

We receive the following error:

      Error

      The server can not be used due to a configuration error, please contact the administrator. If you are the administrator, please consult BI Publisher user guide for          proper configuration.
