Change in BPA with item end date

Hi Experts,

I used BPA for more than 90% of our purchase transactions in one of the operating unit. There is a frequent change in purchase price. Hence, we just used to end date the item and add a new line item with new price. Due to this the no. of line items in the BPA has become very huge and modification takes more time.

In order to have the price change history I used this kind of activity. Is this the correct way or any other we can do to simplify it?
