automatic restart of an Oracle Standby database 19c under Linux

Hi,

whenever a Linux VM (Oracle Linux 8.x) with a Standby database gets restarted, the configured Standby database will be opened in mode "READ ONLY WITH APPLY". This mode requires an additional Active Data Guard license (which we don't have). To avoid this I have set the entry in file /etc/oratab to "N" (DBNAME:/app/oracle/product/190000/db1:N) - but this means, that the Standby database has to be started manually. It would be nice to be able to automatically start the Standby database in modus "MOUNT". I have read about solutions with a trigger or a scripted solution. Both solutions are fine for me - but need some extra effort. Is there any other way to start an Standby database in modus "MOUNT" automatically when the host/VM was restarted?

Howdy, Stranger!
