KTSJ Slave blocks the collecting statistics of a table

Hi,
since 3 days I observe a background activity from "KTSJ Slave". The process is part of space management. The activity is "DB File Sequential Read". I see no impact of performance database wide.

The problem:
There is a large tagble of 600Gb of lob-segments. On this table are many inserts and deletes over the day. If try to collect statistics of this table or dropping an index of this table, the process is blocked by the "KTSJ Slave".
The concurency info of blocked session (sqlplus/dbms_stats.gather_table_stats) is "Library Cache Lock". After 15 minutes a timeout of collectiong statistics occures.
