OEM Job Type to Bulk Update Properties on Targets

Hi OEM Team,

Managing the security model and target properties in OEM can be very time‑consuming and tedious. In our environment, we rely on four key properties—Line of Business, Location, Lifecycle Status, and Department—to ensure that targets appear in the correct groups for access control and for incident rules to function properly.

To handle this, we’ve had to build custom scripts that read from a spreadsheet/CSV and iterate through each property. Doing the same updates directly in the UI is even more time‑consuming, as it requires navigating through multiple screens to reach the target properties and then manually editing them. Some target types, such as WebLogic domains, support mass updates for both the parent target and all child members. Others—like a Siebel Enterprise, which may contain several hundred child objects—do not offer this capability.
