Verification of Recommended Java Version for Use with Java Web Start on Oracle EBusinessSuite 12.2.6

I would like to confirm whether the Java version currently used in our environment — Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_461-b32) — is still the most appropriate and recommended version for use with Java Web Start on Oracle E‑Business Suite 12.2.6.

We are reassessing this version due to several vulnerabilities recently identified in Java 1.8.0_461. Therefore, we would like to know:

  1. Whether this version is still certified and supported by Oracle for use with E‑Business Suite 12.2.6;
  2. Whether there is a more up‑to‑date and recommended Java SE 8 version to ensure greater security and compatibility;
  3. If a newer supported version exists, please provide the official guidance and reference documentation.
