Upgrade to 26ai Plan from 19.28 in Oracle Database Appliance

Good afternoon,

I am in the Planing stage for an DB upgrade from Oracle 19.28 to 26ai. Current ODA ist in 19.24 and we will upgrade in two steps to 19.29.

I noticed that in 19.29 the ODA Patch procedure has changed a bit.

It is possible to update the GI independently than server: 

(obviously, I know I have to run the prepatch report in between for each component)

odacli update-dcsadmin -v 19.29.0.0.0

odacli update-dcscomponents -v 19.29.0.0.0

odacli update-servercomponents -v 19.29.0.0.0

odacli update-gihome -v 19.29.0.0.0

odacli update-storage -v 19.29.0.0.0

My question here is, can I update the gihome to 26.1 during this update (from 19.28 ) ?

is some specific dependency between the gihome and storage component ? Should I also update the ODA servercomponents to 26.1.
