Is gcc needed for Oracle database installation in OEL/RHEL?
Some background to the question. After installing RU 19.29 and trying to enable unified auditing gives the following error
make -f ins_rdbms.mk uniaud_on ioracle ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/gcc: No such file or directory
expr: missing operand
Issue is there in RU 19.30 as well.
Raised a support ticket and support person insist that gcc must be installed in order to install database software. (Once gcc is installed above issue goes away)
The is contradictory to all the support docs on installation
