E1 31 Do component cost "A2" can cause accounting variations?

in Manufacturing - JDE1 (MOSC) Question

JDE 9.1

Hi I am testing the component scrap feature.

I want to know, what is the effect of not recording or over recording the scrap transaction qty after reporting material issue to a work order.

Will this create an accounting variation? if so is it in the R41804 pdf output?
