Using Service Module for Suppliers instead of customers

We want to leverage Service Module to create Service Request for Suppliers instead of customers. We want to leverage Email Center with Service Module. Email Center is looking at party name. Can we configure or extend it to look for Suppliers instead, so that when an email comes in, we can associate with Supplier rather thn a customer. We are on EBS R12.2.10 and trying to leverage Email Center with Service Module.
