HFM making excel to run slow/froze

Hi Team - we are currently experincing issues with HFM on excel. I work for a big company and the finance team use HFM. However, they are experincing a lot of issues when opening excel files. It takes a long time to open/load, and its always freezing. They are currently using a 64GB ram laptop, so is not the space. Is there any suggestion or alternative to work with this files. Some of them are a little big but others are not.
