How do we enable session persistence (sticky sessions) in AGW?

We are currently using Azure Application Gateway (AGW) for the first time. Has anyone set up a PeopleSoft website using AGW? (We are on PT 8.62.08). Any directions to troubleshoot will help.


The application is accessible via the direct URL:
http://server:port//signon.html
When configured through AGW as:
https://site.domain.com/

The sign-on page renders correctly. However, upon entering credentials, the page redirects to:
https://site.domain.com/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/?cmd=expire

and the following message is displayed :

Your PeopleSoft connection has expired.

For increased security on this site, connections are expired after 90 minutes of inactivity.

Your PeopleSoft session has expired. Close all browser windows before logging in again. If this is your only active PeopleSoft session, click the Sign In link to sign in again.
