    The Business Purpouse is actually a lookup code in AR .

    Setup>System>QuickCodes>Receivables.

    Query the type : SITE_USE_CODE

    The use of the lookup codes is to standardise the values entered in the feilds . The AR code internally associates some meaning to a few of the seeded lookup values . I havent see a useage of the lookup value 'Acknowledgements'. It may be used to mark a customer site is the site one needs to send acknowledgements for SO's  etc ... The idea is to differenciate the various sites of the same customer depending on the interactions we would have with that site .

    You can add your own values to the lookup code and tag the values to the Site.
