Please perform pick release with auto allocate and auto pick confirm as no.
Navigate to transact move order update the quantity with partial quantity and then perform allocation and transaction.

Thanks alot . However in this case when i ship confirm the whole line will be cancelled and the sales order line will be closed. I want the remaining portion of the line to be available for future releases.

    Any suggestions?

Hi, With the above suggestion, once you transact a partial quantity, the line detail corresponding to the sales order line will get split in the shipping transaction form and will show a staged line and a backordered line. Once you ship the staged line and run Interface Trip Stop, you will see that the order line in sales order line is showing a shipped line and also a line with awaiting shipping (for remaining qty) which can further be pick released and shipped. .
One other simple way to achieve your scenario is to split the original delivery detail line after booking in the shipping transaction form such that you can are able to just pick release the line quantity you need (based on split).
    .
You may be probably facing the scenario of the remaining quantity getting auto-cancelled because you would have a value of under shipment tolerance percentage updated on the sales order line. Kindly check that field in the shipping tab (its a hidden field). If yes, blank out that field and retest.
    .

Thanks alot. Now i understand why unpicked lines get cancelled.

But i guess Oracle has not thought of the need  of Partial release while designing the system, because they havent provided a direct easy to operate procedure.

    Regards

The easy way is Open the shipping transaction form
    Query the order
Keep the cursor in problematic line
    Click Action -> Split line
    Click Go.

Now the line will have two delivery details which will split.

Pick the delivery details 1 separately and then delivery detail 2. The line will remain open till both the lines are pick released.

    Thanks,
    Aswanth

Also you can partially reserve the quantity from the sales order  -Tools -> scheduling-> reservation details , then prick release the  lines, if you still like to ship with further paritally qty - then you can do at shipping transactions too as said above.

This is  simple procedure that can anser your question.
