From what i'm seeing on the classic ML it looks to me that they have frozen updates to documents in the last week (latest I find are dated 10/30 in the "Knowledge Base " and "Bug Database" sections. They have frozen updates before during this process and my guess is they are doing it again because of the big cutover this weekend. It is either something like that or a bug in MOS. It would be nice if they would announce when they freeze updates but they never have in the past so I don't expect it. I also see that the same issue that has been going on for many months where very old documents are getting updated and sorting to the top of the recent updated list (like end of year phase 1 2008 documents) is still happening. Hopefully this will get better at some point.

You are correct, content freezes are standard before the upgrades.

Too bad that annoucments about freezes are not part of the standard process for upgrades. Ha

Any process is subject to change - it's a good idea.
Where would you like to see such announcements? What's the best vehicle?
      - Email - contained in standard announcements?
      - Post in communities (various product, just Using My Oracle Support, etc)?
      - News and Notes articles?
    other?

I'd love to hear your feedback.

    Thanks.
    Chris

It appears to me that the "News & Notes" section on the old ML, not sure what it is in the new ML, does not get frozen along with the other sections. Maybe an annoucement can just be put in that section so that all customers are aware of the freeze. Also, while on the subject of suggestions, is there anything that can be done to stop whatever process takes place that updates the last modified dates on very very old documents that cause them to sort up as current? That would be a huge improvment. Thanks!
