Hi Srivinas, I am struggling a little bit with grasping the purpose of some content in this community. Maybe you can help. Why do we want a piece of information here on e.g. notional packs, while there is already a good OracleSupport note on it?Why not update the note with the possibly additional information from the community note? The notes on Oracle Retail in OracleSupport are already that scattered, fragmented and partial overlapping that I just fear more snippets in yet another place. Has the concept of a (monitored) Wiki been considered? That would be a giant leap. And at the same time we do also have already wiki.oracle.com (WetPaint) with very limited activity. And there is mix.oracle.com for Oracle Retail, also as good as dead. I am a great fan of sharing and helping (see the OTN Oracle Retail forum) but I am very much struggling with the multitude aspect of Web2.0 - fortunately I have setup RSS feeds to monitor all, where possible. Thanks and honest best regards,Erik0 -

As the Community and Category Manager I appreciate your feedback and participation in the RMS, Support Community. We understand your concern about the ability to efficiently locate knowledge documents. There are several internal initiatives at Oracle currently underway to address this issue. We agree that more content is not always better, we are striving for quality. Neither Srinvas nor I were aware that there was an existing knowledge document pertaining to this subject. If you would like to share the Doc ID of the existing support note we can review and combine information. It is not our intent to cloud the waters with more content that only makes existing content more challenging to find. A review of documentation will be performed in the near future to combine information from several notes to one and archive unused notes.
While I can not speak to the missions of some of the other tools you mentioned only those that I oversee, the Support Communities goal is to extend communications not only to our users but also business partners and professionals. This is an area where existing knowledge can be highlighted and presented to community members using alternative means other than searching. The RMS community has several sections including: Discussions, Documents, Tips and Tricks, Best Practices and White Papers. If you would like to share any information or documentation that relates we would be happy to consider the information for posting.
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to your continued participation in the Retail Merchandising System, Support Community.
Best Regards,

Hi Erik, sorry, I did not see your comments till date. Apologies. You are probably referring to the notes that I have created via KM. The reason why we needed to create another note is that some of our customers are still not used to searching the Retail community. Also, based on further discussions, we thought it would be better to create another note. Let me know if this answers your question. As far as the other resources you have mentioned, I am not aware of those.
