    I recommend also the OracleSupport document "Managing Multiple Company Operations in Oracle Retail Merchandising System [ID 887814.1]" for additional general understanding of the related concepts.
    May also like to check: "Managing Multiple Company Operations in Oracle Retail Merchandising System [ID 887814.1]" and "What Is The Use Of System Option Intercompany Transfer Basis In RMS? [ID 728317.1]"

    Especially if you also integrate RMS to EBS/other financial package using the standard RMS interfaces fifgldn[123].pc, study that aspect/setup also as the Org Unit seems to be originally introduced to align RMS to the financial package. (E.g. "Integration Between Oracle Financials And RMS [ID 455207.1]", there are many more documents related to this specific integration.)
