This is great!  Thank you.  We actually have a BI reporting tool as a Custom Web Tab that users can run/view reports through (for information not always native to the CRM).  We were thinking about having a sort of web link embedded in one of the Web Tab reports to allow someone to Task a user to follow up on something- rather than leaving the report, finding the Contact Record, and tasking from the Contact Record.

I talked to our BI tool consultant and he mentioned Mash Up- is this something we would build on the CRM side & do you think this is possible?

    Thanks!!

    Raajprabha,

The current article is excellent and has been a lot of help over the past few years.

Is this something that CRMOD still supports? I heard that after R24 they recommend we do not use Custom URL encoding to show reports on detail pages and simply use Home page reports.

Is there a new alternative to this?

    thanks
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,

This was never supported because when you are using custom web links or embedded reports in web applets you are exposing yourself to a risk that this not to work after an upgrade.

If you will check the online help article “Setting Up Web Links” you will notice that Oracle CRM On Demand does not support internal (from within Oracle CRM On Demand) URLs or external URLs to embed analytics content. It is recommended that you do not use a URL to embed analytics content in custom Web links because the URL might not work after you upgrade Oracle CRM On Demand. Use the custom Homepage report to display analytics content within Oracle CRM On Demand.

This information can also be found in the Online Help article: "Getting Started with Answers (Custom Reports)" in the paragraph: "Analytics URL Reference Is Not Supported".

    Regards,

    Bogdan
