Issue with invoices not showing up in sales order related records - after changing customer name on

We have a customer that has sub-customers. Originally we only had the main customer listed on the Sales Order, Item Fulfillment, Invoice, and Bill--however, we decided we wanted to change that and list the sub-customer on those instead. I went in and changed the customer on the Sales Orders, Invoices, and Bills, but the Item fulfillment does not let me edit the customer. Now, if you go to the related records on the sales order, it does not have the related invoices, it only shows the item fulfillments. Do you know why this would cause the invoices not to show
