Supply Allocation and Demand Planning

edited Jun 19, 2020 9:23AM in Ask A Guru 4 comments

Hi Gurus,

Can you please help educate on the fundamental differences between Supply Allocation and Demand planning features and the use cases of each?

I have read the supply allocation in SuiteAnswers but still can be confusing especially in conjunction with other inventory planning features in Netsuite, particularly advanced inventory management and demand planning. The way I see it, it simply tries to connect incoming stock (POs,TOs) to outgoing stock (customer orders) without actually calculating optimal stock levels?

We are a retail company in the eyewear industry and ideally looking for a NS solution/feature to automate allocation and replenishment.
