Advance Notice: Upcoming Removal of MD5 and SHA1 Hash Algorithms
This notice is intended for customers with one or more scripts that use the MD5 or SHA1 hash algorithm for credentials, certificate, secure strings, or crypto ciphers and deciphers. As of NetSuite 2021.2, support for the MD5 and SHA1 hash algorithms in SuiteScript 1.0 and SuiteScript 2.x will be completely removed.
What is Changing?
The removal of the MD5 and SHA1 hash algorithms as of NetSuite 2021.2 release will affect the following SuiteScript 1.0 and SuiteScript 2.0 APIs:
Recommended Actions
You should review scripts in your account to find any that use MD5 or SHA1 as the hash algorithm. To ensure these scripts continue to work as expected after your account is upgraded to 2021.2, you must update them to use a different hash algorithm, such as SHA256 or SHA512.
