Hide subtab on New, show on Edit and View

Can you hide a subtab for entity New, but then have it show for Edit and View? We want to limit what is seen when creating a new project, but want that same user to see the subtabs in view and edit mode. We moved all required fields to the Main | Primary Information section, so there is no need to have subtabs like Financials or Related Records or Audit Trail or Preferences when in New mode. Only need to see them in Edit and View mode. Thanks!
