Can Leads be converted / merged into Contacts?

We have a lot of customers who start filling up their shopping cart on SuiteCommerce, and then want to order the items for their organization. We have their organization as their own customer record, and would like this new lead to be added as a contact to be able to order for this organization, without losing their cart contents. Any ideas?
